The Melanesian Mission plays a key role developing partnerships between those from the Church of Melanesia and the church in the UK.
Kate and Asim are teachers at a Church Secondary School in Solomon Islands. They are sharing their skills and experiences in a setting very different from what they were used to back home. Although resources at times are limited, they have been able to develop the curriculum to include drama and business studies alongside their teaching of English and computer studies.Matthew has been working for the Church of Melanesia for seven years at the Theological College during an exciting time for the College when they have been able to introduce their first degree programme. Currently undertaking further studies in New Zealand, Matthew and his family will return to Melanesia next year and continue to develop the theological training on offer at Kohimarama.
The Church of Melanesia can offer short term gap year opportunities lasting six to twelve months and longer mission partner placements. These posts are always at the request of the Church of Melanesia ensuring that their priorities are being met in the most effective way.
